Check valves, also known as one-way valves, are used to flow fluid in a predetermined direction and prevent any back flow or reverse flow from occurring. When designing a fluidic system that requires a check valve, it’s essential to select one that will operate reliably and with precision. Many critical applications cannot tolerate any back flow as even the slightest amount could negatively affect system performance or may even cause damage to upstream components the check valve is intended to protect.
A pressure relief valve is a mechanical device which allows a gas or liquid to escape from a section of a fluidic system when the pressure exceeds a predetermined limit.
The Lee Company, pressure relief valves are small, lightweight, and incredibly durable – enough to serve out the entire 30-year lifespan of an aircraft without replacement.
Pressure Relief valves can serve one of three functions – safety relief, pressure regulation, or protection against thermal expansion.
Lee directional flow controls provide metered flow in one direction and free flow in the opposite direction. Occasionally referred to as one-way restrictors, these components are functionally equivalent to a check valve in parallel with a flow restrictor.
Lee Spin jet nozzles serve one of two functions: provide an atomized hollow cone of spray or provide an accurate, solid stream of fluid for lubrication.
Lee Shutter valves are designed when redundancy isn’t practical, such as in landing gear or braking, a three-port shuttle valve can be used to provide back-up control of a single system. Lee shuttle valves are designed into landing gear and braking systems as a way to switch between main and emergency control lines when needed.
